ELA:
The students are continuing to work on "presidential characteristics" essays.
They are also learning about combining sentences.
The class has started reading "Drums, Girls, & Dangerous Pie."


Math 7th/8th:
The students are currently learning about surface area and the Pythagorean Theorem.

There will be a quiz late next week


Math 5th:

The students have been working on solving word problems involving money.
This week, they completed a "create-a-store" poster and game.

ELA:
The students are currently writing an expository essay about the characteristics that they believe a president should possess.

Subjects and predicates are also being studied.


7th/8th Math:
The students are currently learning how to use formulas in order to determine the surface area of three dimensional objects.

Quiz sometime next week


5th Math:
The students are currently learning how to write and solve word problems involving money.
They are working on a candy store shopping project.
Next week, the students will be working on creating their own menu projects.

ELA:
The students are working on a song lyric project.
A new novel will be started soon.

composite figures.
