Language Arts:

Writing: This week the students should be presenting their "Dream City" projects.

Reading: The students are continuing to read: Girls, Drums, and Dangerous Pie.



Math 5th/6th:

The students will be taking a quiz on comparing and ordering integers and absolute value.
They will begin working on coordinate grids.


Math 7th/8th:

The students will be learning about scientific notation and linear equations.

Language Arts:

Writing: The students will be completing and presenting their "Dream City" projects.

Reading: The students are reading Drums, Girls and Dangerous Pie. Through reading this book, the students are learning how a middle school student deals with his brother having leukemia.


Math 5th/6th:

The students are learning how to compare and order rational numbers.


Math 7th/8th:

The students are learning about square roots and square numbers.

Language Arts:
In writing, the students are continuing to work on creating their own "Dream City."
In reading, the students are reading Drums, Girls and Dangerous Pie.

5th/6th Math:
The students are ordering and comparing integers.

7th/8th Math:
The students are learning how to write numbers in decimal expansion form and how to estimate the value of irrational numbers.

Language Arts:

In writing, the students are developing an essay and completing a map project about designing their own city.

In reading, the students are reading short informational texts in order to improve their comprehension skills.


Math 5th/6th:

The students will be learning about integers, rational, and irrational numbers.


Math 7th/8th:

The students will be learning about decimal expansion and square roots.
