*The students are currently writing about a day in the life of a turkey.


Language Arts Grades 5 -8
*Please continue to work on the BOOK PROJECT it is due December 5th.
*The students are writing persuasive Thanksgiving essays.


Math
*The students are currently studying fractions and mixed numbers.

Language Arts:

*Grades 3 and 4 book projects are due on November 20th

Book Project packets will be sent home this week.
Please  be sure to read the directions with your student.

3rd and 4th grade projects are due November 20, 2012




Math :

Students have been learning about decimals.
The next topic that they will be studying is fractions.

Language Arts: 3 and 4
 
The students are learning:
*cursive -so far they have learned the letters A C D G
*how to identify subjects of sentences
*how to look back at a story in order to answer questions



Language Arts: 5 -8

The students are learning:
*how to identify different kinds of pronouns
*how to web-outline- and write a personal narrative
*how to answer open-ended questions


Math
Students are learning how to read, write, and identify the place values of numbers in different forms.

Language Arts Classes:

All students will follow the following guidelines for Spelling Homework:

Monday: write the words 2 times each

Tuesday: alphabetical order

Wednesday: sentences should be written for the number of words selected on your student's list

Thursday: study

Friday: test



Math Class:

We have been reviewing basic skills topics. Currently, we are studying place value.

Language Arts:
The students have completed their MARE projects. In class, the students continue to study parts of speech and how to write critiques.

Math:
The students are studying coordinate grids, line plots, and stem and leaf plots.
Please have your student practice their multiplication and division facts at home.
