Happy Spring!!!!! Book Projects Are Due April 27th Language Arts: The students have been learning about modifiers in grammar. The class will continue to read A Mango Shaped Space. This month the students will focus on speculative writing prompts. 8th Math : The class will be creating scale drawings. The students will continue to practice solving word problems. 5th-6th Math: The class is focusing on solving word problems involving money.

* In class, the students are reading A Mango Shaped Space ..... ask your student about the book ...let them teach you about a disorder you may not have ever heard of....

Happy New Year!!!

Language Arts..........
The next book project is due February 24, 2011.
We are continuing to read The Breadwinner by Deborah Ellis.
The class will continue to work on persuasive and explanatory writing.

Math: 8th Graders will be working on word problems, Algebra, and basic Geometry topics.

Math: 5th and 6th Graders will be working on word problems and various kinds of graphs.

Language Arts

*The book projects that were completed in November were fabulous.

*New book projects will be assigned the week of December 6th.

*We will continue to develop our essay writing skills by using newly acquired knowledge about the figures of speech.

Math classes will study: Geometry, Coordinate Grids, Place Value, Word Problems
